Brown colored handcrafted Ikat from Java.
Ikat is a special style of weaving found in traditional villages across Indonesia. What makes ikat special/ different from many other traditionally woven fabrics is the fact that the cotton yarn is dyed BEFORE it is woven. This makes it very difficult to weave ikat.
This ikat has been hand selected during my travels in Central Java. This is from Jepara region. Handwoven from cotton using traditional ikat weaving methods.
Size large. 240cm x 120cm.
Ikat can have many uses, this is how I use mine:
~ Sarong / beachwrap / beachtowel
~ Shawl / Scarf / Extra layer
~ Extra blanket whilst travelling
~ Couch cover / bedthrow
~ Picnic blanket
~ Sun protection / shade cloth
This ikat features various tones of brown on black.
